Well, ladies, it’s right around the corner: Valentine’s Day! The annual celebration of all things love, packed with flowers, candy, dinners, and pampering. But who is going to pamper you? It doesn’t matter if you’re single, happily taken, or somewhere in between; this Valentine’s day, make sure to spoil yourself!
Spend the holiday indulging in some much needed, and all-too-often neglected, self-love, and do right by the most important person in your life: you. In our constantly frantic lives, it is so crucial to stop and take a little timeout for a bit of guiltless “me time,” and Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to stop putting it off and do it. Trust me, your body and mind will thank you. In fact, taking the time to #treatyoself can result in lots of benefits, such as: lowering your risk of heart problems, reducing your risk of stroke, and even boosting your memory. Now that’s something to celebrate! Here are ten fabulous ways to practice self-love and self-care, and, of course, spoil yourself silly this Valentine’s Day. Enjoy!
1. Send Yourself Some Beautiful Flowers
Whether you’re single or taken, you deserve flowers just for being your fabulous self every day. Who can deny that there’s just something about looking at fresh, cheerful flowers on your desk, or counter, that fills you with joy and brightens your mood every time you catch a glimpse. Besides, a beautiful bouquet is such a nice reminder that you’re appreciated, and never forget that one of the people, who should appreciate you the most, is you.
2. Schedule Yourself a Relaxing Massage
Maybe getting a massage seems like a pretty decadent thing to do, but you deserve it! Plus, there are so many amazing reasons to go out and get a massage on top of just wanting a little quality “me time.” Getting regular massages can improve your circulation, reduce aches and pains, and even be an effective treatment against depression. Who knows, you might get hooked.
3. Take Yourself Out to a Fancy Dinner for One
This idea might seem a little intimidating at first, but, trust me, it’s kind of the best date ever. There’s no one to impress and no judgment, so go ahead and start with dessert if you want to. Make sure you order whatever you want, and relish the experience. Maybe finish off with a glass or two of wine; after all, it is Valentine’s Day.
4. Have a Soak in a Luxurious Bubble Bath
Today’s world is so fast-paced that taking a little time to sit back and relax in a soothing warm tub can be just what the doctor ordered. Besides, let’s be honest, I’m sure you’re overdue for a bubble bath. Showers might be super convenient, but nothing beats a long, luxe soak for an hour or two.
So stop by your local LUSH, or Bath and Body Works and stock up on your favorite bath bombs or oils, kill the overhead lights and use some soothing candles to set the mood. Maybe even go a step further and make yourself some relaxing hot towels for your shoulders and face, bring a favorite magazine or book, and a glass of wine.
5. Look Good, Feel Good, in a Gorgeous New Lingerie Set

8. Shamelessly Devour Your Favorite Sweet Snack
If you’ve always had an overactive sweet tooth and now is the perfect day to give in! Grab some cute Valentine’s Day cookies, and a giant heart-shaped box of chocolates, tiramisu, or whatever strikes your fancy, and dig in! Remember this day only comes once a year; better give it your all!
9. Throw a Fun Girl’s Night with the Squad
Forget about finding the last minute date, instead, call up all of your best girlfriends and head out on the town for a night of fun, friendship, and mischief. Or, if staying in is more your scene, throw a wild slumber party or movie night. Remember, Valentine’s Day is about celebrating love in all forms.
10. Get Your Makeup Professionally Done
Okay, even if it’s just for a killer selfie for Instagram, head down to the makeup counter at a nearby mall, or book an appointment at Sephora to get your makeup professionally done. Learn some new tips, maybe grab some exciting new products, and honestly just feel like a supermodel for the rest of the day. Grab your mom, sister, or gal pal to liven things up, and you’re sure to share a memorable day.
