Like many art fanatics, The Metropolitan Museum of Art holds a special place in my heart. I can remember visiting this magical place as a ten-year-old girl as I accompanied my mom on a business trip to New York City. I was mesmerized by all of the beautiful art and could not take my eyes off of the art pieces that covered the walls. It was on that trip where my love and appreciation for art was born. I can remember talking my mom’s ear off on the plane ride home telling her how I had found my passion in life, and I proudly proclaimed that I would become a famous artist when I grew up. When I got home I begged my mom to buy me a new set of paint brushes, paint, and an easel.
I was not an art major when I attended college, instead, I went a whole different route and decided that working in the healthcare industry was my true passion. Although my love for art never left, and when I am not walking my dog, designing a new website, or in the kitchen, you can find me at the nearest museum marveling at the art on the walls.
This season I’m partnering with The Met Store to share two of my favorite gifting picks. Both items are unique and under $100 to show you that gift gifting does not have to break the bank.
Purchases from the Met Store support the Museum’s collection, study, conservation, and presentation of 5,000 years of art. You can purchase in-store or from the convince of your own home online!
My first pick was a pair of elegant earrings. This is an excellent gift for the special women in your life, your mom, best friend or even yourself. The Met store has tons of beautifully crafted jewelry pieces for every budget. Jewelry is a very safe gift; I mean who doesn’t love a nice pair of earrings or a stunning necklace to add to their collection. This gorgeous set of byzantine circle drop earrings are 18k gold-plated openwork circles. They feature sterling silver ear wires under the gold, which makes them an easy wear that you can rock all day long. I gifted these to my mom as an early Christmas gift, and let me tell you she absolutely adored them.
If you need even more ideas for a special woman on your list be sure to check out the amazing scarves and shawls collection as well. My aunt who collects shawls from her travels around the world loved the shawl that I gifted her from The Met Store. They have a variety of different colors and styles to choose from.
My second piece was exclusive design tee created by Pat McGrath Labs. Art meets makeup in the first ever beauty brand to be featured at The Met Store by none other than Pat McGrath. If you have any Pat McGrath fans or makeup lovers on your gift giving list, you are going to want to check out the Pat McGrath collection on the Met store. This exclusive design tee was created by Pat McGrath Labs to celebrate the Jewelry: The Body Transformed exhibition.
Also featured in the Pat McGrath collection is the Gloss ‘BLITZ GOLD’ Lip Gloss and the Bronze Seduction Eye Palette (not pictured) this is another great option for gifts for her. The Pat McGrath collection is exclusive to the met which means that whoever you gift these too will feel extremely exclusive because not everyone will have it. I gifted both the makeup pallet and the t-shirt to my best friend who is an aspiring makeup artist and a huge Pat McGrath fan, she unquestionably loved it.
While the holidays can often be stressful, it is ultimately worth all the stress when you get to see the smiling faces of your closest friends and family. The Met store makes it easy to shop for the special people in your life because there is something for every one of all ages. They offer unique pieces that you can’t just find anywhere.
