Have you ever had one of those weeks where everything seems to go wrong, and you feel like you can’t catch a break? Some weeks are often, extra trying than others. If you are having one of those weeks, it is so important that you take some time to unwind and recharge for the sake of your health and sanity. These five tips will help you destress, and prepare for another great week.
1. Spend Time Alone
Whenever you have a hard week, spending time alone can do wonders for the body and soul. If you want to lower your stress levels spending time alone is one of the best things you can do for yourself. Being alone stuck with your worries and thoughts can surely be intimating, but you must acknowledge them, so you will be able to deal with them and move along. Until you acknowledge your feelings and properly tend to them, you will keep experiencing bad realities that will eventually force you to deal with those feelings. Don’t be afraid of your thoughts, allow them to refocus you. In your alone time do activities you love, and bring you peace; read a book, meditate, or journal.
2. Cook Some Exceptional Food
Not fatty food, but good food! Food that is going to make you feel good. Instead of going out to your favorite restaurant, get into the kitchen and cook up a remarkable meal. Invite some friends over to cook with you to make it more enjoyable.

Very frequently we have a stressful week because of essential matters in our life, such as a difficult job assignment, an ill child, or just plainly too much on our mind. However, sometimes we are the cause of our unnecessary stress and pain. Reflect back on your week think about what you can cut back on, anything that isn’t contributing to your happiness. Too much social media, complaining, being negative, these are all things that can cause unnecessary stress. Re-evaluate, simplify, and finally re-prioritize.
4. Get Into The Gym
Get moving! Go for a run. Play Wii. Play catch with your dog. Anything that gets you up and moving around. Exercise is not only beneficial to your health, but it also boosts your energy and makes you feel refreshed and ready to take on another week.
5. Cuddle Up
Whenever I have a terrible week, I love to cuddle up on the couch with my boyfriend. Watch our favorite movies or TV shows, and drink some wine! It is so important to allow yourself to unwind, and indulge once in a while. The concept of self-care was very perplexing to me for a long time. It is almost as if I didn’t know how to be kind to myself. Silly right? I’m here to tell you self-care is imperative and necessary. When I was not taking care of myself correctly, I remember being miserable. Now that I am, I have seen my mood improve significantly. I am much happier; my soul continually feels at peace.
